Stitches Texas

This was the very first time that Stitches held an event in Texas.  I was pleased and honored to teach at this inaugural event, and I had a lovely time.  The students were engaged and enthusiastic, the venue is beautiful, and the market was spectacular.  Being the first event, it was less crowded than other Stitches events.  I warned students not to get used to it, because I expect the numbers to grow quickly.  This was my first time to visit Texas, and I hope that it will not be my last.

Kelli Nuss took this photo of me at the Teachers Ala Carte event. It really captures, for me, the joy and spirit of the event.

Another first – I was asked to help dress a model for the Fashion Show!  It was intense, but a lot of fun.

IMG_3094(1)I found some fabulous yarn in the market to knit Brooke Nico’s lovely Floral Tunic.  This pattern is from her book, Lovely Knitted Lace.  I swatched as soon as I got home, and am getting started immediately.  The yarn is dyed by my friend Carol Sulcowski, who is the genius behind Black Bunny fibers.
