This pattern was designed for a Craftsy/Bluprint kit. Named for my mother, who learned to knit by making argyle socks, this is a good pattern for a first intarsia sweater project. Intarsia patterning is on the front pieces only. The back and sleeves are knit in solid stockinette. Easy to knit and to wear, this is a very useful and cozy cardigan.

Because this is a drop-shoulder sweater knit in pieces and seamed, it is easy to size up or down. For the fronts, if the desired number of stitches does not match the argyle chart, simply leave the extra stitches in solid MC at the side seams.

Lightweight worsted wool, or a wool blend is an excellent substitute for the original yarn.
