Northern Threads : Fairbanks, #craftcruises

The first yarn store we visited on the MuskOx and Glaciers land tour was the Northern Threads, in Fairbanks.  We were greeted by the store dogs carrying toys, which was absolutely charming.  This terrific store had a very impressive yarn and pattern inventory, as well as an enormous sewing and quilting section.  The yarn side had a nice central area of couches where the non-knitters relaxed in style.  The knitters took serious advantage of the sale prices arranged for us.  They weren’t kidding around with the discounts at Northern Threads – many lovely yarns were up to 50% off.  We had a great time choosing colors and fibers.

Not just knitting and crochet, there was something here for any fiber enthusiast. The quilts were absolutely stunning.

Notice the men on the couches near the corner. The knitters are engrossed in checking out the inventory. We could have stayed here all day!

Waving our purchases from Northern Threads!

It was tough to leave Northern Threads, but lunch awaited at a nearby lodge.  After eating, we gathered on the deck to show our purchases! What a great morning!
