I’ve been working on finishing up some knitting projects, and continuing to practice my weaving skills.

I finally finished Strandwander, just in time for football season and supporting the Oregon Ducks with this great colorway by Holiday Yarns.

 

I also finished L’Enveloppe, which is an amazing pattern by Sally Melville, knit with Knitting Boutique Anacostia worsted in the Baltimore skyline colorway.  It was fun to knit, but I wasn’t sure how it would all come together.  But it worked out great and I love it!  I am sure that I will knit this pattern, again.

 

I finished my practice warp, and got a fun surprise.  Check out the before and after photos of this scarf.  My weaving was looking pretty stiff with a firmer beat, so I thought I would loosen up the beat and let the warp show through.  The weaving looked like a mess and I was worried it would fall apart in wet-finishing.  But that is what practice is for.  Surprise!  It turned into a soft, drapey scarf, and now I wish that it was longer!!!

I decided to make another set of placemats, and got the warp on, and started weaving in only a few hours.  So, I know that I am improving.  This is the first time I’ve warped without consulting my notes at all.  Go, me!

It’s great to get some projects finished.  Now I am turning my attention to upcoming events where I will be teaching.  First up, I travel to Dallas for Stitches Texas!  This is the first time for this event, and I am honored to be asked to teach.  I’ll be teaching 6 different classes, and I hope to see some of you there!
